Course designer, Cuthbert Butchart is not a household name when it comes to golf architecture, but perhaps he should have been given the course has remained almost untouched since its inception.

Established in 1873, West Lancashire is recognised as being one of the ten oldest clubs in England and is the proud custodian of some of the finest natural links terrain found anywhere in the British Isles.

West Sussex can be found on the northern side of the South Downs, which is in itself, an area of outstanding natural beauty. With its wooded hills, lavender fields, vineyards and its picture-perfect villages and peaceful market towns.

Designed by Tom Dunn in 1893, Woking is thought to have been one of the driving forces behind the strategic golf course design. A sign of this ingenuity can be seen in the sparsely placed bunkers around the course.

The club's two championship courses, the Hotchkin Course and the Bracken Course, are testaments to the skillful design and meticulous maintenance that define this golfing institution.
